Frozen Sandisk Sansa Clip Fix for OSX (M340)

Just thought I should post how to fix a frozen Sansa clip because it took me so long to figure it out and the Sansa webpage was not at all helpful. The clip was opening up to the starting screen but never going on past that. It also would not show up as a drive on my powerbook.

1. Power down the clip.
2. Turn on the lock.
3. Hold down the middle button and plug in the USB.
4. Drag and drop any file you want to save onto your desktop.
5. When the drive appears got to your Applications>Utilities>Disk Utility
6. Click on erase tab.
7. select ms-dos (FAT)
8. Click erase.

htc touch pro 2. how to lock.

After what feels like an hour of button mashing on the terribly unintuitive phone and 30+ unintended phone calls I can report that the way to lock this phone is click and hold the bottom right button until it vibrates. the one that looks like hanging up.



Anyway at least you can get this fairly high functional, though wildly unintuitive, phone free.

Preventing a MacBook charger from breaking

I have since figured out how to fix a broken macbook charger. Instructions here.



If there is anything that Apple does worse then making their products affordable it is building chargers that last.There were two points at which the old charger would break.

I went through two chargers on my old powerbook g4. Both places slowly lost the connection. I would bend them to make it and eventually they failed. I eventually bought an off brand one that was a little better and alot cheaper.

So I told myself that this time would be different. with my new MacBook I am using a piece of string wrapped tight around the cord. I am doing this under the assumption that the charger breaks because the cord is pulled to to tight an angle and this string will allow for a more gentle bend.

Any thoughts?



Now what I really want to know is how to fix macbook or powerbook chargers. I am sure there are some that could be fixed. See link in comment section

Mario Kart style RC battle

This was fun and relatively simple all you need is two RC cars of different frequencies, rubber bands, push pins and balloons. In this case the cars are TYCO canned heat. I think this is pretty self explanatory so I will not go into a detailed explanation. The only trick is pushing the pin through the rubber band. It seems to work best at a 45 degree angle upward.

Homemade LCD protector for my digital camera

After breaking my LCD screen by leaving my keys in my pocket with my two month old camera I have decided to build a protective cover for the LCD. The following instructions will show you how to build an LCD cover for just about any digital camera.

Supplies:
An old CD or cassette case with very few scratches.
Adhesive Velcro. I got this at a local hardware store.
Razor.
Fine sandpaper.

I started by placing the CD case on top of my camera and traced the shape of the LCD screen with a little extra space on both the left and right sides.



I than scored these lines all the way to the edges of the CD case with a razor blade. Once scored the lines can be cracked by gently bending the plastic.




To finish the plastic I beveled the edges with fine sandpaper.

Next i cut two thin strips of adhesive velcro the height of the LCD screen. I afixed the soft sides of the velcro to the camera and the course side to the plastic.


I than velcroed the new screen cover to the camera. I have been using this in lew of a case since I made it.





This side view shows the slight clearence between the protector and the LCD which allows pressure to bend the protector without affecting the LCD.
